The Osprey Yacht Club (OYC) has reached the end of an eventful year and the conclusion of Steve Harris’s tenure as club commodore.
The OYC would like to retain their experience and involvement in club activities through an organized sponsorship and mentoring program for new members. The continued participation of our experienced members in on-the-water activities is strongly encouraged.
Club membership, too, is gradually shifting away from ownership of larger yachts, powerboat/sailboat cruisers, and racing sailboats to smaller boats like runabouts, jet skis, sailing dinghies, canoes, and kayaks. We invite avid cruisers to join our yacht club and participate in local and regional cruising and racing events. The more the merrier!
Many Plantation residents see our beautiful waterfront community as more than a golfing community. It is an active, desirable boating community for Albemarle Plantation homeowners. Our club enhances boat owner enjoyment and promotes life-long boating interest by inclusively encouraging non-boat owners to join our club. Those new members can take advantage of boating education classes, on-the-water activities, and mentoring programs to become enthusiastic future boat owners who’ll bolster club membership, occupy empty marina slips, and enrich our community.
We encourage you to get involved, volunteer, and participate. The OYC can use your talents, be they instructing, organizing, planning, serving, operating, crewing, decorating, managing, assisting, maintaining, and BOATING to enrich our many programs. We encourage our members and invite the community to get involved with OYC and our unique and uniquely rewarding Albemarle Plantation boating lifestyle.
