We found the plantation in 2005 and knew from the beginning that this was the place to live. The marina and golf is what brought us here, but we also realized that the friendships we have made since we arrived are now the most important. What a fun place to live!

For the Love of the Game
The Sound Golf Links at Albemarle Plantation is the region’s only golf course to earn four-and-a-half stars from Golf Digest magazine. It’s easy to see why. Brilliantly imagined by master architect Dan Maples, it flows gracefully through the coastal terrain, past towering pines and moss-draped cypress, across gently waving marshes and lush wetlands, building to a resounding crescendo with three dramatic finishing holes along the Albemarle Sound, returning home to the Plantation Clubhouse and the warm camaraderie of the 19th hole. Even when you’re not at the top of your game, the surpassing beauty of the natural surroundings will keep you coming back round after round.
World Class Golf
The Sound Golf Links at Albemarle Plantation continues the Maples tradition of blending challenge with enjoyment, and aesthetics with playability. Given a rolling piece of terrain right on Albemarle Sound (the three finishing holes in particular offer compelling views), Maples crafted a course that fits the land and fits the community. Holes meander through lush Low Country marshland and forests of towering pines and moss-draped cypress, creating a spectacular backdrop for a fun, challenging round.
The Sound Golf Links has earned many accolades, including having been rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest. But the biggest accolade is the pride the members take in the course, and how passionate they are about golf at Albemarle Plantation.

Albemarle Plantation isn’t your typical private, gated, waterfront golf community. As an established place to enjoy life, Albemarle Plantation is more than the sum of its considerable parts. Some key points of differentiation for you to think about as you plan your visit.
